Extension Programs ESL Special Needs Assessment Reporting

At Giralang we use a number of formal and informal processes for reporting.

It isn’t necessary to wait for formal reporting times - you can make an appointment to see a teacher at any time throughout the year. Because it is difficult for teachers to respond adequately to parents during class time, we ask that you organise an appointment at a mutually convenient time. Simply contact your child’s teacher or the Front Office to arrange a suitable time.

Formal Reporting

Term 1: Getting to know you interviews

Teachers have getting-to-know-you interviews with parents / carers early in term 1. These interviews provide an opportunity for parents / carers to provide teachers with first hand information about their child that will assist them in planning a comprehensive program that meets the unique needs of each child.

Term 2: The mid year reporting

The mid-year reporting process has four components:

A portfolio.- Individual student portfolios are collections of work that demonstrate evidence. They are added to throughout the year by both students and teachers to highlight specific elements learning program.
