Student Reflections on Giralang Primary School

Here at Giralang Primary School, our students have shared some of their favourite things about school life — from the garden and lunchtime clubs to exciting learning opportunities. These reflections are written in the students' own words and highlight what they love most about their school.

Learning at Giralang

“At Giralang Primary, we have lots of exciting ways to learn. Our lessons are interactive and often involve group activities. We’re lucky to have specialist teachers for subjects like Sustainability, Music and P.E. Each class also has access to Chromebook trolleys, which makes learning even more fun and motivating!”

Our Open Spaces

“At Giralang, we have so many great places to explore. Our library and a special space called The Cloud are perfect for reading and group work. At lunchtime, everyone gets excited to head to the oval, where there’s always something fun to do. We have lots of different equipment to use – from sports gear, a playground and even a giant spiderweb to climb.”

“We also have a multipurpose court where we can play basketball, netball, futsal, and other creative games. The natural surroundings, with trees and outdoor materials, make our play areas even better.”

“Our canteen is another favourite spot. It’s really popular, especially when Nude Food runs special lunch days. In our courtyards, we have sunny and shady places to sit, and some even have benches where we can eat, chat or sit at.”

Our Garden

“At Giralang Primary School, we love spending time in our garden. The teachers run sustainability clubs and classes there every week. We get to plant, water, grow and even taste a variety of vegetables and plants. There’s a path through the garden that makes it easy for all students to enjoy this beautiful space.”

Lunchtime Clubs

“There are so many fun lunchtime clubs at Giralang! There’s something for everyone. Some of our favourites are the Library Club and Magic Club with our Youth Worker. We also have clubs run by our school leaders, like Soccer Club. Lunchtimes are never boring!”
