P&C Services
Parents are an important part of the operation of Giralang Primary School – their involvement, support and expertise play a crucial role in the learning program.
Through the P&C Association, parents provide many services to the school community:
• Canteen
• After School Care
• Fundraising to provide resources, facilities, excursions
• Breakfast Club
• Walking School Bus
• School Banking
• School discos and family BBQs
• School uniform pool
• Researching and applying for grants
• Mothers and Fathers day stalls
• Year 6 Graduation dinner and disco
• Sports coaching
• Prayer group
• Adult education - First Aid courses and literacy enhancement program
• Encouraging volunteers in the classroom and for excursions, sports days, etc
• Representing the school at P&C Council http://www.schoolparents.canberra.net.au
The P&C provides a forum for bringing parents, teachers, the School Board and interested citizens together in the common cause of providing a high standard of primary education for the children of Giralang Primary School. The P&C is also responsible for electing parent representatives to the School Board. Click here for the current Committee.
The P&C enjoys a healthy relationship with Giralang staff and with other P&C associations within the region. It has been a very strong and well informed organisation for many years and has a dedicated active membership.
