One of the P&C’s roles is to raise funds for the school to be spent on resources, equipment, infrastructure and renovations.
Over the past five years the P&C has raised over $40,000 for the school, including providing a large playground shade structure, musical instruments, sports equipment and uniforms, building works and educational items.
The P&C has a policy of keeping direct fundraising – such as Entertainment Books - to a minimum to reduce the burden to parents. Generally there are only 2-3 direct fundraisers per year.
We also raise money for the school through on-going activities such discos, community picnics, mothers / fathers day stalls, the sale of second-hand uniforms, school banking and book club.
All parents are encouraged to participate.
The major fundraiser for 2007 will be the Giralang Community Fair on August 25 which will form part of the school’s 30th Birthday celebrations.
If you have a fundraising idea or would like to help, email gpspc@homemail.com.au or just come along to the next P&C meeting.
